UNFORGOTTEN AND ENDURING LOVE~

There I was clad in Red,

The Rhenish wine, chilling my fingers,

Lost in solitude,

I don’t know where my mind lingers.

Somewhere in the corner,

burns a lively fire, I see,

It reminds me of the flame of love,

does this flare still burn inside me?

Having no love in my heart,

makes me wicked and inhuman,

but when you left this world,

I felt broken and everything seemed foreign.

Oh love,

I search for your figure in the moonlight,

but you are nowhere in its golden color,

I realize how much I miss us,

Life will never be the same, I think as I slumber.

How can you fade just like that?

your unspoken words are haunting,

I know you are safe with god but

deserts, sunsets, and us is my only longing.

I wonder, how you withered away,

without dropping any clues or hints,

you have gone so quickly,

but on my heart, you have planted your footprints.

You were like a dream,

that I wanted to live forever,

But I guess I woke up too early,

now you are a hallucination, repeating itself over and over.

I drain my wine in one go,

As my eyes start to flood,

My long gown becomes damp from my tears

As my naked toe circles the mud.

I walk myself to your grave,

crouch down and try to speak,

Instead, I weep every emotion out,

As my throat only allows me to squeak.

Why couldn't I ever save you?

From death’s clutches,

We will reunite in heaven, I hope,

As my red dress soaks and smudges.

A/N: Good Day my raspberries!! I am back with another piece of poetry, This time I decided to write on the genre-Tragedy and grief, I have left this poem with an open ending, because sometimes some endings are good to be left unsaid and to be guessed with a bit of hope abiding! Do let me know in the comments how you felt about this poem. Lots of love to each one of you❤🍒🤗✨
